Nerding Out

My dear sweetheart has an awesome laptop we got in a great deal on craigslist, but he's had his heart set on a desktop for quite a while. Initially I wanted to build him a gaming computer from scratch, but we don't know many techy people and Lord knows I'm inept at the hardware portions (I can google-fu the crap out of software but putting computers together terrifies me), so it's just left as an idea in the nether.

UNTIIIIIIL we found out that, just two hours north of us, there's a sweet little computer shop that sells cheap refurbished gaming computers! :D

Phoenix Computers had a great turn around time (answered text promptly, we ordered on Sunday and it was here Tuesday midday!), superb customer service, and great products especially for the price. No, I wasn't paid or in any way compensated or asked for this-- I'm just a happy customer. :) The postal service managed to jiggle a cord loose inside, but we opened it up and, after we texted him pictures, the owner pointed out what cord needed to go where and BAM up and running.

Since then, I reactivated my WoW account and am really excited to play. Normally Sister B lets us use her laptop while one of us is on Eric's laptop, or one of us play with her, but now all three of us can play! :D Eric is waiting to pick up a monitor but in the meantime figured out how to hook it up to the big TV in our room-- as evidenced by the photo above, he's loving it.

Really looking forward to a gaming night this Friday with my brother and Dad joining us! Eric's also taken the day off Friday in order to get his hands on a Nintendo Switch. We missed out on the preorders (stupid bills were paid that week. boo adulting), but are actively looking for someone with a spare. If all else fails, we will be in line on Thursday night.

Had a bit of a freak out yesterday, then realized that in all the hustle and bustle this week I hadn't taken my meds. Oops. Very lucky to have Eric to point it out because Lord knows I wouldn't have noticed. Reminded to take them this morning and am back on track! When Sister B gets up I'm going to bug her to help me make bread. Once I get that major step in thrifty living down I can move on to the next step!

How's your hump day going?
